A sensational win for Australia, another upset for the Netherlands

In the two matches of the ODI World Cup 2023 being played in India on Saturday, Australia beat New Zealand after a thrilling encounter as the Netherlands pulled off another upset against Bangladesh.

A great showdown between two giants

Five-time world champions Australia beat New Zealand by just five runs in a high-scoring match in Dharamsala today.

Australia scored 388 runs thanks to openers Travis Head’s century and David Warner’s 81 runs.

The New Zealand batsmen chased the target hard but fell behind by five runs.

New Zealand’s Richan Ravindra scored 116 runs, while Daryl Mitchell scored 54 runs and Jimmy Neesham scored an aggressive 33-ball half-century in the final overs.

New Zealand needed 19 runs in the last dramatic over, but managed only 13 runs despite wide getting five runs.

After this match, both the teams have won four matches, while they have faced defeat in two matches.

Head, who was sidelined for some time due to a broken hand, scored his fourth international century off just 59 balls in his first match of the mega event.

For the third wicket partnership, Wesley Barisi and Colin Ackerman put on a 59-run partnership while batting cautiously.

Barisi was out on an individual score of 41 while Colin Ackerman returned to the pavilion on 15 runs.

Netherlands captain Scott Edwards was the outstanding batsman with 68 runs. Boss de Leyde played an innings of 17 runs and Sybrand Engelbrecht played an innings of 35 runs.

For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Sharaful Islam and Mehdi Hasan took two wickets each. Shakib-ul-Hasan got a wicket.
