BEIRUT – Revenge for Ismail Haniyeh’s death will most likely be carried out by several countries or groups. However, until now it has not been proven who was behind the murder of the Hamas leader.

Early in the news of Ismail Haniyeh’s death, Iranian proxies such as Hamas and Hezbollah pointed out that Israel was the mastermind behind the incident.

Because the Jewish State is indeed the party that is most aggressive in hunting down Hamas leaders after the October 2023 attacks.

The news of the Hamas leader’s death also immediately sparked anger among several parties, especially Palestinian freedom fighters. If Haniyeh’s killer is proven, then it is not impossible that the regional conflict in the Middle East will spread even further.

It is likely that not only small groups will intervene if the conflict spreads, but also the state will be involved.
