A gang has found a new trap to scam asylum seekers in the UK. For this they are using a voluntary repatriation program of the UK government. The gang is essentially tricking asylum seekers in the UK into going to Rwanda and getting £3,000 in aid.

British newspaper The Guardian recently reported that fraudsters are working on two projects. One is the 3000 pound financial aid announced by the government. Another is to advertise that the government is offering a £3,000 incentive to send asylum seekers rejected in the UK to Rwanda.

Fraudulent gang members are calling asylum seekers using the name of Migrant Help, a private organization that supports asylum seekers. These calls are being made by hiding the number. For example, the caller’s identity cannot be identified.

Migrant Help said on social media platform X that no such calls are being made from their side after the matter came to their attention.

The British Home Office has condemned the incident, saying it is a cruel trick to deceive vulnerable people.

Reward on repatriation
Under a voluntary project, the UK government plans to send asylum seekers to the African country of Rwanda in exchange for three thousand pounds. This offer can only be made to asylum seekers whose applications are rejected. Through this, the British government wants to remove the backlog created in the asylum process.
