A new microdistrict Birlik was built in the North Kazakhstan region for residents whose houses were declared uninhabitable as a result of the flood, Liter.kz reports with reference to the press service Governments RK.

53 new houses with an area of ​​80 square meters were commissioned. m each. Keys to another 47 houses are planned to be handed over by the end of June. In total, 700 houses, a kindergarten for 90 children and a comfortable school will be built in the Birlik microdistrict.

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov visited a newly built house in the Birlik microdistrict of Petropavlovsk and talked with family members who received the keys to the new housing.

“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has special control over the issue of restoring housing to all those affected by the flood. The North Kazakhstan region was one of the first to complete the construction of houses for residents of flooded microdistricts of the city. Moving all the victims into their homes before the onset of the cold season is our priority,” Olzhas Bektenov emphasized and instructed the akimat to improve the surrounding area.

In total, in the affected regions of Kazakhstan today, 841 families have received new houses and apartments to replace destroyed housing. Construction of 1,825 new houses is underway. 4,521 families received compensation for repairs and restoration of housing.
