Agents of the National Police have arrested a 23-year-old immigrant of Moroccan origin with Spanish nationality in Baza (Granada). as the author of a total of four robberies committed inside a vehicle, in a park and another two in a sports center, all of them in just over a month. According to police sources, the agents of the Baza police station (Granada) They began an investigation last February in relation to an active thief in the town who, in just over a month, carried out four thefts of effects, documents and money in various places. In which all the victims of these events had filed a complaint about them, providing a clear description of the suspect.
Specifically, the theft of a purse with documents was reported that occurred inside a sports center, a week later another report details that the suspect returned to the same place and seized a mobile phone.
Posteriorly, The theft of a backpack from inside a vehicle was reported which had the doors closed, but the central locking active. And the fourth incident involved the theft of another mobile phone, also carelessly, which occurred in a park. The total value of the stolen items almost reached 1,500 euros, including the two mobile phones, as well as the vehicle key and 200 euros in cash that contained the aforementioned backpack.
The criminal, according to the National Police, “focused on careless thefts and dedicated himself to moving around the city of Baza, interested in vehicles that could be closed but without blocking the doors.” Shops and other establishments – such as sports centers – were also the subject of interest in their searches. «He entered them and took any valuable object that he found,” the agents confirm.
With the mode of operation applied by the suspect, he “obtaining the loot was ensured without causing damage to property or vehicles“, going unnoticed and, therefore, without exposing himself to being intercepted by his victims or witnesses,” according to investigation sources. “This man’s activity had led to citizen complaints on social networks,” they conclude.
Once identified, the first efforts made to locate him were unsuccessful because he was a person who took precautions so that the agents would not detect his presence, so A police summons was filed, the result of which was his arrest. At the time of the arrest, carried out this March, he was carrying a mobile phone that came from the robbery in the park, which has been seized.
The detainee has already been placed at the disposal of the judicial authority in Baza (Granada) for the adoption of the pertinent judicial measures.
