Khaled Ahmed returned the Lankan batsman Dhananjaya in the first over of the second session. The Tiger pacer trapped this batsman with 70 runs off 111 balls. Shakib took another wicket in this session. Prabat Jayasuriya (28 off 75 balls) lbw by the Tiger all-rounder.

Bangladesh bowlers took two more wickets in the third session. Sri Lankan batsman Kushal Mendis, just 7 runs short of a century (93 off 150 balls), was caught by Mirage while punching an out-swing ball from Tiger all-rounder Shakib.

Mathews’ partnership with Dinesh Chandimal for the fourth wicket was not great. Only 26 runs. Mathews caught Miraj’s ball from pacer Hasan Mahmud. He got out for 23 runs.

Shakib took 3 wickets for Bangladesh. Hasan Mahmud took 2 wickets and Khaled Ahmed and Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 1 wicket each.
