This trend is similar to the famous Pont-de-Za (lovers’ bridge) in Paris, where the same tradition is followed. Where Paris authorities removed the locks installed in 2015 due to fear of the bridge collapsing.

In the video, Casey Yeong can be seen looking for a lock among several colorful locks, which she then cuts with wire cutters.

He told Insider newspaper that it took him about 30 minutes to find the lock, which he and his ex-partner installed in 2019.

Casey admitted that his only purpose in coming here was not to remove the lock, but that he had to come here on some errand.

According to him, remembering the locks he and his ex-partner used to install here, he thought he could come here and make a great video for his followers that everyone could relate to.

He said, ‘Everyone can relate to the fact that everyone is bound in some kind of relationship that can break up and they can even install a love lock somewhere with their ex-partners.’

This well-known location in South Korea is not the only place where such love locks exist.

In 2015, they were also removed from the fence at Point Danger in Queensland. While in 2017, the same was done with the locks on the Arkansas River Junction Bridge.
