The MVM has announced a relief: a favorable agreement has been reached for many, so those entrepreneurs who received premium invoices can save huge amounts of money.
Several micro-enterprises have been in big trouble lately after they received premium invoices due to a failed declaration – revealed from the MTI report. But now there is good news, Gábor Czepek, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy (ME) for Administration, met with László Németh, the president of the National Association of Industrial Organizations (IPOSZ), to agree on easing their situation, which will happen as follows.
According to the agreement, in relation to micro-enterprises that on August 1, 2022 they were in universal servicebut then they failed to declare their obligation, the national energy provider acts fairly in the case of submitting subsequent certificates. That way they do not have to pay the surcharge invoices issued from August 1, 2022 until the termination of their contract, often amounting to millions, or they can return to the universal service.

Facilitation of accounts for micro-enterprises
The eligibility conditions for micro-enterprises for the universal service were changed two years ago, according to which the universal service provider called on the enterprises whose consumption proved to be exceptionally high to make a statement. If the user did not complete the declaration by the specified deadline or did not declare himself as entitled, the universal service provider contract is terminated. Because of this the service provider retroactively accounted for the electricity purchased during the existence of the legal relationship at the market price.
Since the government’s aim is still to protect the energy prices of the population and micro-enterprises, we listened to their problems, and for the sake of fairness, the invoices issued with a surcharge will be corrected by the MVM, and for those paid, the enterprise can decide whether to ask for the difference back or whether it will be deducted from its future invoice every month
Gábor Czepek pointed out.
According to László Németh, the decision is significant progress for the smallest businessesas the government took them into account pressing problems. IPOSZ appreciated the government’s openness.
