A game at the “back” of Yerevan. who are the players – 2024-04-18 17:26:56

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow expects a clear response from Yerevan regarding the document circulated yesterday. We are talking about the document, which, according to the information platforms that spread it, refers to the tripartite meeting in Brussels on April 5 and was, so to speak, leaked from it. In the content of the presentation, it is said that military-political issues were discussed in closed mode in Brussels, in particular, replacing the Russian military presence in Armenia with NATO, US, EU specialists, as well as the transition of Armenia’s strategic infrastructures to the domain of Western control, and other similar issues.

The information seems to have been spread yesterday by Azerbaijani sources and until today there is no official response either from Brussels, Washington or Yerevan. Moscow “hunts” the spread information and in fact puts Yerevan in front of the need for a clear response. If it is announced that such a discussion has taken place, it will essentially mean a direct declaration with Russia. By the way, perhaps it is worthy of attention here that the information “leaked” from the Brussels meeting is made public by the Azerbaijanis on the same day when the decision made at the Russian-Azerbaijani highest level regarding the early withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Artsakh is also officially announced.

It is difficult to say whether there is any significant connection in the circumstances of this chronological coupling, but the calculation of Baku regarding the missed “leakage” is quite remarkable. If Yerevan denies this information, denies that such issues were discussed in Brussels, then Baku will try to gamble and sell it to the West, so to speak. And so far, he has tried to draw in Russia, and Zakharova’s question proves that at least at this moment the drawing has reached a certain goal: a question addressed to Yerevan was raised.

On the other hand, if what was published in the Azerbaijani domain is really a leak, the question arises as to how and through whom that document “leaked” from the closed meeting in Brussels. Who, on the one hand, communicated with Yerevan there, and on the other hand made a “transfer” to Baku after the meeting? In all cases, what is happening clearly indicates the failure of Yerevan, at least in terms of information policy.
