The decision of the US Treasury Department to impose harsh financial sanctions against the Jonathan Dilian-Alexandra Hamou couple and companies related to Intellexa, which manages and markets the Predator spyware, brings a forgotten story back to the fore. When the surveillance scandal broke out in Greece about a year ago, one of the revelations stated that the Predator was not only used to spy on politicians, journalists and businessmen in Greece, but Intellexa Greece’s business was doing so well that it also exports with government permission.
So then, we’re talking about February 2023, under the pressure of the revelations, the government had announced that it would conduct a Foreign Office inquiry into how the Predator was licensed to be exported to countries in Africa. We never found out what happened to that research finding. What did it show? All we have been informed is that the secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who had signed, at the behest of the government, the licenses for the export of the Predator, has retired from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has been assigned to the headquarters of NuDu in Moschato. While it doesn’t exactly amount to a promotion, it’s a typical move, showing that the investigation revealed something the government never wanted out. The opposite, I must admit, would surprise me…
Silence is the medicine “to save anything if it can be saved”…
Nice would be for President Kasselakis to appeal to Justice against Mr. Eth. Georgopoulou, former financial director of SYRIZA, for the case of the loan of 270,000 euros that the leader gave and took back, to the party. Perhaps if this were to happen (because it is NOT going to happen – I bet), we would be informed of what exactly has been “played” with the famous loan, which is now shrouded in mystery and creates the feeling that something very serious is hidden behind it. Because now, after the intervention of the prosecutor on whether it is legal for the president of SYRIZA to own companies abroad, the conversation is moving to another level. Acquired political characteristics, it gives president Kasselakis the opportunity to bring back to the public debate all that mudslinging against Mitsotakis, Marevas, etc. (for which SYRIZA was harshly condemned in fifteen electoral contests) and the truth will be lost. And along with the questions regarding this case, the many questions: like, let’s say, was there a loan agreement between president Kasselakis, as a natural person, and SYRIZA, as a party? Or a contract between the president and the company that owns the SYRIZA media, Left Media? Was it perhaps a loan from a company owned by President Kasselakis to Left Media? For a donation perhaps (because the president is a cyborg, as we’ve said before)?
All this and much more could be clarified by a trial following the indictment of President Kasselakis, but, as I mentioned above, I do not believe that it will be filed.
However, given the opportunity, the president, what happened, asked the lawyers if it is legal, as the official opposition leader, to have companies abroad? He had promised that he would – some 15 days ago. But… not, apparently.
What is the name of the disputed company Kasselakis? Osios. What it means; I refer to an explanation from Dogma, the church news agency. He mentions the following in the relevant entry, which I transfer as is, because, no matter how you look at it, no matter how you do it, such a name does not go unnoticed. On the contrary, it “makes an eye”. So before we deal with what might have prompted a new man, namely Kasselakis, to name his company in the USA Osios, let’s see what osios is for the Orthodox Church:
“In ancient Greek, the adjective “faithful” means one who is dedicated to God. More specifically, in the Orthodox Church we mean those monks and nuns who willfully refused any worldly pleasure and dedicated themselves to God, body and soul. Competing in the arena of exercise, they may not have gone through the martyrdom of blood, but they passed the martyrdom of conscience and thus became holy.
The Orthodox canon of the Church with the term “Saints” does not make any distinction between the value (one cannot be more or less holy) of the Saints, but it shows that the specific Saints were monks or ascetics.
Where did President Kasselakis practice, so that he got the idea for Osios? In which monastery? And why? And if he didn’t practice, what exactly is the message he wants to send us? That he is dedicated to God? The lad will drive us crazy…
In the Maximos Palace, where the initial opinion that had been formed about the unknown issue with the e-mails to the voters of the European elections was probably in favor of Anna – Michelle Asimakopoulou, the… royally baptized according to Polakis, that well “too bad for nothing”, because “in two months at the most, all MEP candidates will be able to have the voter lists in their hands” (can this happen? Is it legal?), now the moods are changing.
They are seriously worried that the ball (of revelations) might drag other people along, such as for example the well-known… “reformist” minister Niki Kerameos. Kerameos made the big mistake, in my opinion, to announce that she ordered, and is already conducting, an investigation at the Ministry of the Interior to establish how the lists of foreign voters came into Asimakopoulou’s hands. I leave the fact aside, because the sidewalks of Claithmonos Square are also laughing at “what is meow meow doing on the tiles”, and I stand by the indirect admission as such: the lists left the ministry that he heads and actually supervises. So the investigation must show the culprit or culprits. Whom he must indicate to the Personal Data Protection Authority and to the competent prosecutor, who has taken charge of the matter.
I think we’ll be laughing soon! Remember me.
Also with reference to the attitude of Megaros Maximos towards the two objective protagonists of the Asimakopoulou – Kerameos case, careful observers of the case appreciate that the treatment they have from this is of two speeds. Currently, the government, unable to do otherwise, tried to protect Kerameos from accountability (isn’t she accountable even if it turns out that her ministry is a swindler? I wonder now…), but as far as Asimakopoulou seemed more restrained. Especially if there is a question about its inclusion in the New Democracy ballot.
I interpret this attitude as a waiting attitude. They are waiting either for the matter to “fall” in terms of publicity and for it to be fatally covered by the oblivion of time, or for the Justice to absolve her of responsibility, in which case her candidacy will be solemnly announced. If things go seriously wrong, it is clear that she will be left off the ballot. Anyway, I’m putting my money on the first version and not the second one that shouts from afar that it’s clearly leading you to the bucket…
