During the second day, the crews had to cover eight more stages and after the first stage on Saturday, Samson regained the leading position. For the rest of the day the gap to his closest pursuer was variable, but until the last fast stage the Lithuanian had an advantage of almost ten seconds over Blum.
In the final stage Blum set the second fastest final time and made up the deficit of 8.20 seconds to beat the Lithuanian crew. In the overall standings, the Latvian crew preceded Samson/Snitka by 0.63 seconds, while the Estonian duo Patriks Enoks/Silvers Simms (“Ford Fiesta Rally3”) completed the top three, losing less than 30 seconds to the Latvians.
In the Latvian Rally Championship, Blum achieved a convincing victory, beating close followers Jānis Vorobiovs/Guntars Zicāns (“Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII”) by 52.55 seconds. The Estonian crew Prits Koiks/Kristo Tamms (“Škoda Fabia evo”) took third place overall in the Latvian championship, losing 55.60 seconds to the winner.
The next round of the Latvian Rally Championship is scheduled three weeks later in the Gulbene district.
