Guatemala Interoceanic Corridor launches tokenization in El Salvador

The Government of President Nayib Bukele announced the preparation of a new shipment of humanitarian aid destined for Jamaica, reaffirming El Salvador’s commitment to solidarity with countries affected by natural disasters.

The Government of El Salvador, through the General Directorate of Civil Protection, announced the preparation of a new batch of humanitarian aid that will be sent to Jamaica, in support of the communities affected by Hurricane Melissa.

This shipment is part of the solidarity actions promoted by President Nayib Bukele, consolidating the image of El Salvador as a country of solidarity and committed to international cooperation.

This is the third humanitarian assistance mission that the country has carried out in recent years. The first was destined for Türkiye after the devastating earthquake of 2023, and the second for Costa Rica, affected by intense rains and floods.

Currently, the Urban Search and Rescue Group (USAR El Salvador) is already in Jamaican territory, collaborating with local authorities to provide support to affected families.

The director of Civil Protection, Luis Amaya, highlighted that the country maintains constant preparation to respond immediately to international emergencies.

“Anticipative action is key to an effective response. We have four Civil Protection warehouses where supplies are stored ready to be sent in the event of any emergency, like the one in Jamaica,” explained Amaya.

With this new effort, El Salvador continues to strengthen its regional leadership in risk management and humanitarian aid.
