Vice President Félix Ulloa participated in the launch of the construction of the Integrated Customs Intelligence Center (CIIA), a project led by the General Directorate of Customs El Salvador, in Ilopango.
During his speech, Vice President Ulloa pointed out that this project is part of the third stage of the Economic Plan, classified as Logistics, focused on sustained economic growth and the efficiency of the State. He recalled that, after achieving the “security miracle”, President Bukele’s second term is aimed at achieving the “economic miracle”, through key efforts like this one.

Likewise, he highlighted that Customs El Salvador is an example of this transformation, becoming a modern and reliable institution that streamlines trade, strengthens border security and combats past phenomena such as corruption and tax evasion. “The recognition of our country transcends borders; El Salvador has demonstrated, even before organizations such as GAFILAT, that it is a Government determined to combat corruption and strengthen transparency,” he emphasized.
For his part, the Head of the Ministry of Finance, Jerson Posada, highlighted that this project is the result of inter-institutional coordination and joint work between the public and private sectors, which will contribute to improving competitiveness and boosting foreign trade. Additionally, the Director General of Customs, Benjamín Mayorga, emphasized that the leadership of President Nayib Bukele has been key to modernizing border points and strengthening the efficiency of the national customs system.

The Integrated Customs Intelligence Center (CIIA) is a strategic commitment to automate and simplify customs clearance processes, reinforce border security and guarantee efficiency in the review and control of goods, through technologies such as:
- Video surveillance systems.
- Drones, QR code readers, RFID antennas.
- Substance and explosive detectors.
- Artificial intelligence software.
Customs modernization not only drives economic growth, but also consolidates the country as a regional model in efficient management, integrity and digitalization. The event was attended by representatives of the private sector; unions and strategic allies.
