Only 22 years old. In the meantime, the way Yasswi Jaiswal is spreading light with the bat, it can be assumed that he will break the Bagha Bagha record of former legendary Indian cricketers.
Jaiswal is waiting to break such two records ahead of the Ranchi Test. The first great record in front of him is that of former Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar. Gavaskar has held the record for the past 54 years.
Gavaskar holds the record for most runs in a series in the history of Indian Test cricket. He scored 774 runs alone in the series against West Indies in 1970-71 season. Even after 54 years, no other Indian cricketer could break this record.
Gavaskar once again reached the milestone of 700 runs in a series. Still West Indies were sent to sacrifice. Gavaskar scored 732 runs in a series against the Caribbean in 1978-79. Besides, no one else in the history of Indian Test cricket could touch the milestone of 700 runs.
Now the young Indian cricketer Jaiswal has a great opportunity to break Gavaskar’s record. Jaiswal scored 545 runs with two double centuries in the first three Tests of the series against England. There are two more matches left in the series. If Jaiswal can score another 230 runs in these two matches, Jaiswal’s 54-year-old record will be broken.
On the other hand, Jaiswal needs 155 runs to reach the 700 milestone as India’s second batsman.
Jaiswal is looking forward to another great record ahead of the Ranchi Test. It belongs to former Indian cricket legend Vinod Kambuli. Kambuli became the fastest in India’s Test history to reach the 1000 milestone. He achieved this record by playing only 14 innings. Jaiswal will also break Kambli’s single record if he scores 139 runs in the first innings of the fourth Test against England.
