The fact that the borders remain closed creates a serious problem for the lifestyle and everyday life of the population in countries like Azerbaijan. From the point of view of tourism, this is a serious problem for both those who come to Azerbaijan and those who leave the country.
Publika.az Economist-expert Rashad Hasanov told Bakupost.az about the information about the possibility of opening land borders.
“Today, the existence of only air transport, especially in a country like Azerbaijan, creates quite a serious problem for the lifestyle and everyday life of the population. Because air transport is a type of transport that is almost not among the choices of citizens in Azerbaijan. The prices are very expensive. Therefore, it is important to open land borders,” the expert said.
According to R. Hasanov, after the election, a decision can be made regarding the opening of land borders:
“Because the closure of borders has a negative impact on all areas of the economy. The opening of borders can give a serious impetus to the development of the tourism sector. At the same time, it will lead to a certain recovery of cross-border small trade from the stagnation experienced in the last 3 years.”
