Ukraine vs. Russia: Current situation in Ukraine ONLINE

Germany intends to increase its ammunition supplies to Ukraine up to four times this year, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius promised today. Berlin will allocate 3.5 billion euros (89 billion crowns) from the German defense budget for ammunition for Ukraine this year, the federal minister also announced before the virtual meeting of the so-called contact group for Ukraine, i.e. representatives of five dozen countries supporting Kyiv with arms supplies. This was reported by the news server Tagesschau.

According to Pistorius, this year Germany will increase the supply of ammunition to Ukraine three to four times compared to last year. “In the end, the (outcome) of the war will also be decided on the assembly lines,” said the German minister.

Ukrainian forces have been dealing with a long-term shortage of artillery ammunition, which is also reflected in the fact that the front line has practically not moved for several months. The huge consumption of artillery shells in the fighting in Ukraine has led to the fact that they are no longer available even in the arsenals of Ukraine’s allies, and thus calls for increasing production capacities are being heard more and more often.
