Precarious is the political/social legacy of the man who was president for two terms in Chile.
When Piñera’s body still maintained its warmth, the dispute began to anoint himself as the heir of the work, the future Campeador, the best Piñeirano, the thanks for the bonuses received. At this point a manifest psychic/celestial state is being revealed that needs to be resolved urgently.
If we give some value to the surveys, those that placed him with the lowest level of popular acceptance, the figure is evident, he was the president of 6%. Simply lapidary numbers.
That is now irrelevant. The short memory left the space for one after another, politicians, businessmen, and the media to praise him until he was one step lower. His two governments made Sebastián Piñera an even more millionaire man, his position in Forbes magazine is undeniable. He deserves a diploma to be among the thousand richest citizens in the world. He far exceeds more than two billion dollars. He far surpassed his beginning fortune with two chicks.
In the beginning it was related to the construction of houses, but then it moved into the world of speculation and profit. He bought paper, sold paper and took the money to a safe place where taxes did not have to be paid. His bills found comfortable and spacious spaces in the condominiums of the British Virgin Islands, of which we do not know the name of the president or the name of the capital.
It will be remembered that in support of a candidate for the presidency of Ecuador he fired a devilish shot at the sinners who were hiding in dark labyrinths to make money clandestine affairs. Back in Chile he forgot and performed one more somersault like the ones already widely known.
A photo in Caupolicán in the 80s and an interview where he acknowledges having voted NO, do not alter that characteristic dictatorial whiff that he maintained when Hernán Buchi began his presidential career led by Augusto Pinochet. At that time, Piñera held the high position of standard bearer/chief of the campaign of the dictatorship candidate. He did not talk about human rights violations. Absolute silence. The enemy to defeat was communism.
He was not a democrat from day one. He was not, although President Gabriel says so.
A staunch defender of Pinochet, he threatened to burn the world if the most bloodthirsty dictator in our history was not returned to Chile. Although they were somewhat similar; one had robbed the bank in Talca and Pinochet had hidden the money stolen in Chile in the Riggs bank, brothers with the soul of bankers.
It can be said that his administration was focused on making private participation available to his friends, to economic groups. Absolutely no intention to alter the model, quite the opposite. It is enough to remember the condonation/forgiveness of a tax debt for one hundred million dollars by Johnson’s, an audacity that would be impossible anywhere else. In Chile it was possible under the Piñera government.
He called it the best Census in history, a fiasco. Millions of dollars wasted, forcing the next government to carry it out without the Piñeiran paraphernalia. Then he stared at some corner on the ceiling as if waiting for a spider to come out.
The president made human gestures, but took breath to highlight issues that are not reality. A cloud apparently covered his critical gaze, the one he built in the street, beating up the system and with a list of names and surnames in hand.
For Piñera, politics, which is possibly the art of governing, he used at will to make huge profits. Influence peddling, use and abuse of privileged information, obvious conflicts of interest, absolute lack of transparency and finally betrayal of the country, as simple as that, a traitor.
Betrayal is a very delicate matter, even more so when it comes to who is at that moment the president of all Chileans and a presidential band.
Exalmar then appears. Piñera had investments in Peru. In the court in The Hague, a dispute with Peru was being discussed, a no small issue that has been going on since the last century. Chile lost the case and the neighboring country increased its space as a country on the high seas. Exalmar shares increased in price which meant greater profits for its shareholders, among whom was Sebastián Piñera. Note that these were not in the famous blind trust that was so vaunted as proof of having passed the whiteness test.
It remains to list the human rights violations committed by the police reported by international institutions, and which will force the current Director of Carabineros to appear before a court to account for the mistreatment of thousands of Chileans whose beatings and shootings , were ordered from the house of the presidents.
Once again President Gabriel is wrong due to lack of history.
