On Saturday night (13) and early Sunday morning (14), Niterói faces chaos with numerous flooding points in several neighborhoods of the city, with heavy rains continuing to hit the region. (Video below | Social Media) The city also recorded several flood points on Friday night (12th).
According to the Civil Protection Operations and Monitoring Center of Niterói, sirens have already been activated in Morro do Estado, Boa Vista, Morro da Penha, Jurujuba, Preventório, Morro do Palácio and Cavalão. The Civil Protection keeps the city on alert and continues to have its teams on duty 24 hours a day to monitor incidents.
Currently numerous roads in the municipality are completely flooded. An embankment fell on top of a car on Estrada da Cachoeira, towards Largo da Batalha. There are no reports of victims. The situation is chaotic.
According to the Civil Protection, so far the highest accumulations in 15 minutes have been recorded in Pé Pequeno: 12.8 mm, Caramujo: 11.4 mm, Tenente Jardim: 9.4 mm and Cavalão: 8.6 mm.

Pay attention to the following guidelines from the Niterói Civil Protection:
- Residents of risk areas should remain alert to signs of landslide threats and be prepared to move to safe locations;
- People in safe locations should remain in these locations until the heavy rain warning ends;
- Avoid passing through flooded areas and near streams, canals and rivers subject to flooding;
- In case of strong wind and/or rain with atmospheric discharges, avoid parking near trees, electrical distribution networks, tents, sidings or in open areas;
- In case of emergency, call 199 or 2620-0199.
