While trying to cross the road from a gas station here at around 02:30 today, Karaman was hit by a car with the license plate 48 AIJ 713 driven by Civil Engineer Emre Ali Önder. Karaman was seriously injured. Karaman, who was taken to Marmaris State Hospital, could not be saved despite the intervention of doctors. Önder, who left the car after the accident, was caught in front of the Datça State Hospital 2 hours after the accident. Önder was determined to have 1.16 per mille alcohol level during his examination and was taken into custody. It was reported that Önder’s procedures at the police station are continuing.
On the other hand, it was stated that the family and ex-wife of İlkan Karaman, who was originally from Tekirdağ, went to Datça to receive the body after receiving the sad news.
