Wael Jassar storms the Moroccan wedding market

Lebanese artist Wael Jassar was chosen, during the past few days, to perform at a wedding held in the city of Tangier.

Wael Jassar shared with his fans a video clip documenting scenes from his participation in the wedding, where he appeared wearing the traditional Moroccan selham to match the authenticity and traditions of the wedding ceremony, which also saw the participation of popular folklore bands.

Jassar presented to the attendees a variety of the most famous successful songs in his artistic career, which the audience interacted with in an atmosphere similar to festivals, despite the fact that the wedding was in the Moroccan style and was not without customs and traditions.

The Lebanese artist is considered one of the most famous Arab stars who constantly visits Morocco to perform at private parties and concerts, due to the large fan base he enjoys in the country, which he has sought to maintain over the years by adopting an artistic strategy that has enabled him to expand his popularity and enter the private wedding market as well as festivals.

A special source revealed to Hespress that Morocco has become, in recent years, one of the most important markets in the world of Arabic music, where artists enjoy great popularity and are celebrated at various events and occasions; which has led some of them to sign contracts to perform at weddings, reflecting their ability to transcend geographical and cultural borders and achieve regional spread.

The same source added that this market has become, due to the increasing demand in Morocco for well-known Arab artists, an ideal place for public expansion.

A Hespress source reported that artists’ wages are high in this case, sometimes exceeding ten million centimes per hour.

It is worth noting that a group of singing stars in the Arab world have chosen, in recent years, to perform at Moroccan weddings, following the example of the Gulf countries; most notably Ragheb Alama, Ramy Ayach, Yara, Balqees, and others.
