With the expansion of tax base, e inclusion in the tax system of all economic activities carried out in the national territory, constitutes the main challenge of the General Tax Administration (AGT), reported today in Luanda the Minister of Finance, Archer Mangueira.
To this end, AGT must be equipped with highly prepared staff, in technical and moral fields, to successfully respond to today’s major challenges.
Minister Archer Mangueira, who spoke at the opening of the workshop on integrity in Tax Administrations, highlighted that in this way the sector will be able to meet the established objectives of greater tax justice.
Archer Mangueira acknowledged that AGT has been carrying out several preventive and awareness-raising actions, with the participation of employees and taxpayers, as well as undertaking other reactive actions, aiming to repress committed irregularities and combat corruption.
He also recalled that the adjustments to the new economic context, which are largely reflected in the proposed General State Budget (OGE), approved by the Council of Ministers, require us to do more with the same resources and, in some cases, to do more with fewer resources.
He explained that this adjustment involves the entire Public Administration, without exception, in which the Ministry of Finance is no exception and AGT will also have to adjust to this new reality.
“One of the measures planned for this adjustment is the change in the variable component of remuneration, which always depends on the tax revenue actually collected. This adjustment may involve some sacrifice, but sacrifices are for everyone,” he said.
