Series brings Al-Hashemi back to TV

The great Moroccan actor, Al-Hashemi Benomar, is making a comeback to the world of television and drama after years of absence from the screen and being content with some theatrical participations with the Mohammed V National Theater Troupe, due to his health conditions.

Al-Hashemi will appear before his Moroccan fans and audience through the new drama series “Al-Sharqi wa Al-Gharbi” directed by Shawqi Al-Aoufir, whose script was written by a writing cell consisting of the trio Noura Al-Saqali, Samia Akriou and Jawad Al-Halou. It deals with family conflicts and family relationships, in addition to social topics such as love, betrayal and loyalty.

Social media users praised this kind gesture by the makers of the new series, which aims to honor one of the pyramids of the Moroccan art scene and one of its pioneers, as he has imprinted the memory of Moroccans for many years with successful dramatic works spanning more than five decades.

For his part, Moroccan artist Al-Hashemi Benamrou revealed that his absence from artistic productions, television and theatrical works in recent years is due to his advanced age, explaining that when a person reaches a certain age, he should not put pressure on himself, as at his age, the offers presented are very few and almost non-existent, noting that he cannot make a light appearance in the shows; because he considers that insufficient for an artist of his caliber who has more than 55 years of experience.

The same speaker added, in a statement to Hespress, that when the offers presented to him do not meet the conditions for correct diagnosis and sequential positions that give him a special space for creativity, he does not accept them, because he has worked enough, indicating that he receives offers to be a guest of honor, which is something he does not accept.
