10.30pm | BMW catches fire while driving
A BMW caught fire while driving in Oldenzaal on Sunday evening. The driver stopped the car at Erve Klöpper and, together with passers-by, tried to put out the fire with buckets of water. In the end the fire brigade had to be involved. No one was injured in the fire. The BMW will be towed to a salvage company.

18:27 | No train between Zwolle and Meppel
Due to a gearbox failure, no trains are running between Zwolle and Meppel. The NS expects the outage to last until after midnight. Train passengers should expect delays of more than an hour in both directions.

1.52pm | The car continues to drive after the accident in Enschede
This afternoon a man was hit on his bicycle by a black car at the intersection of Geesinkweg and Riethermsteeg in Enschede. The driver of the car walked away after the collision. Police are investigating the collision. The cyclist was treated at the scene for his injuries.

12:34 | Chimney fire in Rijssen
Shortly before midday, the Rijssen fire brigade responded to a fire in the chimney of a house in Arend Baanstraat. An aerial work platform was used. The house suffered minor damage.

11.21 am | Car in the ditch near the A28 near De Wijk
This morning a tow truck recovered a car from a ditch near the A28. For unknown reasons, the car went off the road between De Schiphorst and De Wijk. The fire brigade was called, but the call was immediately withdrawn. It is not yet known whether there were any injuries in the car accident.

10.45 | A van goes up in flames near IJsselmuiden
This morning a van caught fire on the Zwolseweg (N764) near IJsselmuiden. While driving, a fire broke out under the hood. The firefighters intervened promptly to put out the fire, but to no avail: the car was completely destroyed. Nobody was injured.

10:22 | Third water main interruption in Zwolle in one day
Things are not going well for the residents of Bergkloosterweg and surrounding streets in Zwolle. For the third time in 24 hours, a water pipe burst. Vitens is present to restore the pipe. The problem should be resolved around 1pm.
During the previous water main break, water entered the basement of one of the houses on Bergkloosterweg. The firefighters pulled it out this morning.

1:00 | 3000 liters of pharmaceutical waste abandoned in Enschede
Late on Saturday evening three large barrels were thrown onto the Moorvenweg in Enschede. The barrels, all three with a capacity of one thousand litres, probably contain drug waste.

On Saturday evening around 11pm the police received a report that the barrels had been thrown upside down into a ditch near the Het Rutbeek leisure park. The three thousand liters of drug waste probably came from a cocaine laundry. The barrels are removed by a specialized service and further examined.
The police have started research to trace the origin of the barrels and are looking for witnesses and images from cameras in the area. The barrels may have been unloaded between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday evening. Last month, dozens of barrels containing drug waste were abandoned in several locations in Enschede.

0.30| Pedestrian hit by car in front of Staphorst entertainment centre
A man was hit by a car in front of an entertainment center on the Oude Rijksweg in Staphorst on Saturday evening. The victim was dropped off by a taxi and was hit by the car while crossing the street.

The victim, seriously injured, was taken to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the car was taken by the police to the police station for questioning.
