According to the President of the Republic Tamás Sulyok, Hungary is committed to Europe, the strengthening of European communities and the preservation of peace, reports MTI.

The head of state recalled at the opening lecture organized on the occasion of the six-month Hungarian presidency of the Council of the European Union, starting on the first of July, that Hungary had held the consecutive presidency 13 years ago, and had done so successfully.

“I am confident that the work to be done in the next six months will be similarly successful, as we have the necessary experience and knowledge,” he emphasized.

Hungary is committed to protecting the interests of Europe, the rights and obligations stipulated in the founding treaties, overcoming the challenges it faces, strengthening Europe and the European communities, and preserving peace.
