Rain prevents the first duel between Algodoneros and Saraperos

The rain did its thing yesterday in Saltillo and prevented the Algodoneros of Unión Laguna and the Saraperos from starting the series scheduled to be played at the Francisco I. Madero stadium in the capital of Coahuila.

About 90 minutes before the “Playball” was sung, the Saraperos de Saltillo Club announced that “due to the heavy rain that fell on the stadium,” the first game of the series was officially postponed.

Although the rain stopped, the field was in poor condition, with puddles in the infield and dugouts, so it was determined that the game could not be played, and they decided, with the consent of the Mexican Baseball League, to reschedule the doubleheader for today, starting at 5:00 p.m.

PITCHERS

There will be no changes in the pitching rotation for either team, so the first pitching duel of the doubleheader will be between Tyler Alexander (1 2; 6.23 ERA) for Saltillo and Oklahoma rocker Braden Webb (4 7; 5.16 ERA) for Unión Laguna. While in the second game, Alex Sanabia (2 4; 5.50 ERA) will start for the Saraperos and left-hander Nico Tellache (5 3; 3.95 ERA) will make his debut with the Guinda team.

THIS SEASON

Unión Laguna has won 8 games of the last 10, and Saltillo 5 of the last 10 meetings. Playing as a visitor, the ninth Lagunera team has a record of 15 wins and 13 losses, and at home the Saltillo team has a record of 16 wins and 13 losses.
