Under the terms of the deal with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, US authorities agreed to no further charges against him. TASS agency informs about it.
“The United States agrees not to bring any new charges against the defendant based on his actions that occurred prior to entering into this plea agreement, unless the defendant violates this agreement,” the document states.
This also implies that the United States will not seek compensation from Assange for “financial losses” related to “the respondent’s disclosure of information relating to national defense.”
“Until this settlement reaches the court, the defendant shall take all available actions to facilitate the return to the United States or the destruction of undisclosed information in its possession, WikiLeaks or any WikiLeaks affiliate,” the agreement states. In addition, according to the deal, Assange waived the right to appeal the court’s decision.
