A unique master class for “special” children was held in Almaty

On June 24, an annual master class for children with Down syndrome and developmental disabilities was held in Almaty, organized by the “Football is available to everyone” charity foundation and the “Mustang” football club, Liter.kz reports.

The event was attended by 150 children and 30 volunteers from various centers, including “Kunshuak”, “Caritas”, “Ray of Light”, “Zhas Zhauynger” and “Ken Zhurek”.

“The event program included sports and creative master classes, the purpose of which was to promote the development of inclusive sports and the socialization of children with special needs. The organizers emphasize the importance of ensuring access to specialized sections, since, despite the high confidence of specialists in the abilities of children with Down syndrome to play sports, the actual availability of such sections is estimated at only 30 percent,” the organizers noted.

The event, under the motto “Sport is for everyone,” also became a platform for communication between parents who often feel isolated. The founder of the project, Chuchman Lyubov, emphasized that master classes play a key role not only for children, but also for adults, supporting inclusion and culture in sports: “Sport is culture. And it is important for us to raise not only professional athletes, but also people who can empathize and help.”

Such initiatives make a significant contribution to the future of the country, creating conditions for the growth and development of children with special needs in a friendly and supportive environment, the organizers note.
