They reorganize circulation on Mieleras Boulevard

The Public Works Directorate is carrying out traffic reorganization work on Mieleras Boulevard, near the Los Arenales ejido, which has made it possible to recover traffic lanes and properly signpost pedestrian crossings.

The head of the agency, Juan Adolfo Von Bertrab Saracho, reported that the work began a few weeks ago and will continue until the access curve to that community.

He said that previously, a road study was carried out which determined the lack of order on the aforementioned boulevard in several aspects, such as the use of the side lanes to park cars and even cargo trucks; Turns were made practically at any point and there was no delimitation of pedestrian crossings.

Given this, the agency carried out an intervention, which began with the resurfacing of streets to rescue the three lanes in each direction, that is, two for circulation and one more for parking, given that only one and a half were being used.

Containment whales were also placed in the central part, to prevent units from turning around in areas that are not authorized for this.

In this sense, the director of Public Works stated that those who wish to turn around must do so until the traffic light that is on the curve, precisely at the access to the Los Arenales ejido, this to avoid accidents and expose pedestrians who exit onto the boulevard. to take a bus.

“According to the last visit we made, people told us that there are still motorists who continue to turn where it is not allowed, which is why surveillance will be redoubled, he said.

Von Bertrab Saracho also said that to force drivers to reduce speed, lines of buoys were installed in the two bodies of traffic.

In this regard, he highlighted that Mieleras Boulevard has ceased to be a peripheral road and, with the growth of housing, industrial and commercial areas in the east and south, it has practically been left between the city, hence the conditions must be established for that those passing by moderate their speed.

On this issue, we are working in coordination with the Directorate of Roads and Urban Mobility, whose elements, rather than infringing, will be dedicated to urging drivers to travel with caution, since it must be considered that a few meters away is the community of Los Arenales, as well as other new subdivisions.

The director of Public Works stated that a call is also being made to the drivers of cargo and personnel transport trucks to moderate their speed, since many people walk across this boulevard along which about 22 thousand vehicles travel daily.
