TNI Commander Prepares Hospital Ship to Hercules for Humanitarian Mission to Palestine

JAKARTA – TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto visited the Central Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). The visit was in order to receive the results of the ijtima of the Ulema of the Indonesian Fatwa Commission, at the Central MUI Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The results of the ijtima discussed 16 religious issues covering various religious issues on a national, regional and global scale. During this visit to the MUI, the government also discussed the steps that have been and will be implemented by the government, especially the TNI, in supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people which is currently being hotly discussed.

Agus Subiyanto said that he had prepared troop assistance and various kinds of facilities to support the humanitarian operation. “If there is a mandate from the UN, we will carry out humanitarian operations in Palestine. What I am doing now is preparing troops and facilities,” he said, Saturday (15/6/2024).

These facilities include hospital ships, Hercules C-130 type J and H aircraft and Boeing-737 400/500 to transport 1,000 or more patients from Gaza to Indonesia, then also prepared hospitals in Indonesia, namely RSPAD Gatot Subroto and Rumah Commander in Chief Soedirman’s illness.

Those present at the activity included General Chairperson of the Indonesian Mosque Council Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, TNI Major General Djaka Budi Utama (TNI Assistant Commander), TNI Major General Gabriel Lema (TNI Assistant Commander), TNI Major General Novi Helmy Prasetya (TNI Commander Aster), Colonel Caj Wagirun (Deputy Deputy Head of the TNI), the leaders of Central Level Islamic Organizations and the entire MUI Leadership Council as well as the heads of Commissions/Institutions within the MUI.
