MINED suspends classes nationwide on June 18 and 19 due to intense and temporary rains

The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) issued a short-term weather forecast for this day, valid from 6:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

According to the MARN, occasional rains and storms are expected, especially in the coastal sector. The sky will remain cloudy throughout the morning throughout Salvadoran territory.

Precipitation is also expected in the volcanic mountain range, the Metropolitan Area of ​​San Salvador (AMSS), in the Tecapa-Chinameca mountain range and, occasionally, in the departments of Chalatenango, Cabañas and Morazán.

«During the morning, the sky will remain cloudy over the country, occasional rains and storms will continue over the coastal sector, with emphasis from the center to the east, reaching the volcanic mountain range, AMSS, Tecapa-Chinameca mountain range and occasionally over Chalatenango, Cabañas and Morazán,” the institution reported in its X account.

The authorities recommend that the population pay attention to weather forecast updates and also drive with caution and not be distracted while driving.

«Given the rains that are being recorded in various parts of the country, drive with caution. Avoiding distractions can save your life and the lives of others,” the institution added.
