Before we toast the New Year, we have a changeable New Year. There will probably be more rain during New Year’s Eve. Due to the risk of gusty winds, special care should be taken around fireworks.
New Year’s Eve starts off rainy. In the afternoon it could clear up with some sunshine here and there. During the day it will be around 9 degrees.
But during the day the rains will return to cross our country. In many places it can rain even on New Year’s Eve. Because lighter fuses can get wet, you need to be especially careful around fireworks.
Strong winds must also be taken into account. During the day, a fairly strong south-westerly wind is already blowing, which is strong near the sea. And during New Year’s Eve it is also very windy. During gusts of wind, fireworks can suddenly fly in an unexpected direction.
The government therefore emphasizes that the direction of the wind must be taken into account. It is advisable to wear pyrotechnic glasses (even as a spectator) and to maintain a distance of at least 8 meters from the fireworks.
At the beginning of the new year the weather remains changeable and mild. On New Year’s Day there will be scattered showers across the country. It will just get a little drier later in the day.
