Microsoft continues to evolve in offering AI-based assistants. After introducing Bing Chat in 2023, the chatbot has now evolved into Copilot. This week, the company launched Copilot app for Android and iOS and works similarly to OpenAI’s ChatGPT mobile apppresented almost a year ago.
Like other generative AI software, Copilot can answer questions, compose emails, and summarize texthave a conversation on any topic and you can too create images through integration with the DALL-E3 text-to-image generator.
Bing Chat evolves into Copilot
At first glance it looks similar to the Bing Chat app, which still gives you access to the same chat features in a clean and easy interface to interact with. Additionally, Copilot can be used in the Microsoft Edge browser for Android, SwiftKey, Skype, and more.
But what sets Copilot apart from the free version of ChatGPT is its Internet connection and the fact that it gives you access to GPT-4, OpenAI’s latest large language model (LLM). Instead of providing answers that are sometimes outdated, you can provide answers with up-to-date information.
From Microsoft they describe the app as follows:

With Microsoft’s rebranding of Bing Chat to Copilot, The company seeks to consolidate its offering in this technology. As well as distributing applications to Android and Apple devicesMicrosoft also created a web experience for Copilot that is independent of Bing.
