Fidel Espinoza (PS) and Iván Weissman on preventive detention of Jadue and greater growth

The senator of the PS, Fidel Espinozacommented in Al Pan Pan with Mirna Schindler, the preventive detention in which the mayor of Recoleta Daniel Jadue was placed, who was formalized for various crimes, including bribery, for his role as president of the Association of Popular Pharmacies.

The PS parliamentarian stated that “Here, not all people who are involved in possible acts of corruption are being measured with the same yardstick,” alluding to cases such as that of the former commander in chief of the army, Juan Miguel Fuente-Alba, or the former mayor of Maipú, Cathy Barriga.

On the other hand, the episode ended with the participation of Iván Weissman, editor of El Mostrador Semanal, to address current economic events.

In this regard, comments were made on the column by Eduardo Engel, economist and director of Espacio Público, who told El Mercurio that “the rejection in Chile is going to include a solidarity component” in the pension reform. “It responds to a political calculation that could be a big mistake”since they assume that they have won the next presidential and parliamentary election.”
