Deep sorrow for the death of writer Carmen Berenguer

Berenguer won the “Pablo Neruda” Ibero-American Poetry Prize and stood out for his work in poetry, prose, as a chronicler and visual artist. In 2023 he received the Valparaíso regional award for Cultures, Arts and Heritage.

Considered among poets who began presenting their work in the early eighties. Works that stand out include “Boby Sands faints on the wall (1983)”, “Huellas de Siglo” (1986), “A medio masta” (1988), “Sayal de hides” and “Naciste pinta” (You were born painted). She was editor of the magazines “Hoja X Ojo” (1984) and “Al Margen” (1986).

In 2016 and 2020 it was nominated for the National Literature Award. In 2012, she was elected president of the Chilean Writers Society.
