Development of plan for the use of biomass

The NYK Line companies, NYK Bulk and Project Carriers, Tsuneishi Shipbuilding and Drax Group have agreed to develop a new ship that will be powered by the use of gases generated from biomass on board. The successful development of the plan will lead to the investigation of the possibility of building such a ship by the end of the current decade. The so-called bioship will address the industry of small ships responsible for transporting biomass created from sawmill residues and forestry.
