However, even the possibility of hitting Earth is not impossible, so NASA considers it necessary to investigate further through this special mission.
A rocket called OSIRIS-APEX was also launched to further research the future threat posed by this asteroid. Considering that this asteroid appears every 7,500 thousand years, it can be said that its trajectory will be close enough to the surface of the Earth’s atmosphere, so much so that the object can be seen even with the naked eye.
