” The die is cast ! »

Today, radio silence is the rule among the candidates in these legislative elections. The least we can say, however, is that this electoral campaign was very dull and did not appeal to a jaded Malagasy population, more preoccupied by their daily problems than by the issues of this electoral competition. Nevertheless, despite their apparent disinterest, citizens seem determined to go to the polls.

« The die is cast ! »

THE ” faradoba » and the noisy processions have multiplied in recent days, but they have not unleashed the enthusiasm of a population more lucid than ever. Citizens, however, have learned the lessons of the past and do not seem to be seduced by the rave speeches. They remain insensitive to the demonstrations of force made by some and even take a certain step back when they are approached by candidates. The remaining 24 hours will not be too long to think about the vote they will take tomorrow. Many of them, in recent days, have gone to their fokontany’s office to ensure that they are on the electoral list, proof that they want to express a choice. No one knows, however, whether they will flock to the polling stations en masse. The observers do not comment on this subject, but informed of what happened in the recent past, the Malagasy want to show that they are ready to show their desire to have representatives aware of their role in the Assembly national. Slogans of all kinds have been put away and the day should be very calm. Everyone will be able to take advantage of these moments of peace to go about their daily activities. However, that won’t stop him from thinking about what this election means. It affects to a large extent the future of our nation. We can therefore say: the die is cast or “ The die is cast ! ».
