A closed meeting between the residents of Kirants village of Tavush, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and members of the government was held in Yerevan yesterday.
Publika.az reports that the Armenian media reports that the meeting did not end well for the villagers.
The Armenian service of “Radio Liberty” writes that about ten residents of Kirants participated in the meeting, but they left the government building in excitement. They hardly communicated with journalists, they just said two words: everything remains as it is, there is nothing new.
Gegham Nazaryan, a deputy of the “Armenia” faction born in Kirants, who contacted the residents who left the government building, disclosed some details.
“He didn’t say anything new, he just repeated the words “it can be like that, it can be like that”. The situation is not good at all. Residents were once again left with uncertainty. Pashinyan said that the border may pass through the middle of Kirants village. This means that when the villagers open the door, they will see an Azerbaijani soldier. Residents don’t know what to do, one says I will burn my house, another says I will build a barricade,” said the Armenian deputy.
Speaking to journalists in Tavush, another deputy of the “Armenia” faction, Garnik Danielyan, also said that Kirants village will be divided into two parts.
“We contacted those who met with Pashinyan, they are very worried. All our fears were confirmed. That is, the village is divided into two parts, the bridge and part of the houses are under the control of Azerbaijan,” he said.
The media close to the Armenian authorities write that the purpose of the meeting is to solve the problems of the residents. According to information, in the meeting that lasted for 2 hours, Pashinyan said that the government is familiar with the problems and that they will be eliminated on the spot.
