Angola could gain price regulatory entity for commercial activity

The country will soon have a price regulation institution for the commerce sector. For this purpose, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, through the National Directorate of Internal Trade (DNI), is preparing a proposal for the creation of said entity.

According to a note that Notícias de Angola had access to, this measure adopted by MINDCOM responds to the gap left by the extinction of IPREC, affecting MINFIN, whose responsibilities were absorbed by the Competition Regulatory Authority, referred to as “ARC” for short.

This will be focused on issues of competition regulation, but without major attributions for issues that have to do with the direct resolution of consumer conflicts, whether they result from company decisions or the sales conditions agreed between them and consumers, or from issues related to after-sales services, invoicing or payment.

Regarding the subject that was discussed in the MINDCOM Board of Directors, this Monday, it was also learned that in this embryonic phase of the project, INADEC, the National Consumer Institute (which also saw its powers reduced) and ANIESA (National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety).

The remaining Directorates of MINDCOM, among other partners, are also called upon to join the working group to prepare the proposal for the creation of a price regulatory entity for the commerce sector.
