A total of 200 elements from La Ola joined the cleaning work on the occasion of the Mother’s Day celebrations, both in the esplanade of the Plaza Mayor and the surrounding streets where the Carlos Rivera concert was held, and in the municipal pantheons, which registered a considerable influx.
The director of Public Services, Fernando Villareal Cuéllar, said that the workers were deployed throughout the area, where some 30 mobile garbage deposits were also placed, so that those attending the celebration could use them properly by depositing their waste.
He said that the deployment of workers aims to ensure that, despite all the garbage that has been generated during the massive event, the place is clean the next day, hence the cleaning work was intensified at night.
Villarreal Cuéllar pointed out that these actions also included the intervention of the company Promotora Ambiental, SA (PASA), with which they work in a coordinated manner to remove all garbage.
In the case of the cemeteries, the staff of La Ola also remained on duty from the first hours and remained active until after the visits had concluded, since the cemeteries remained open until 6 in the afternoon.
In these places, the Public Services Directorate also installed a greater number of garbage containers.
