All citizens who test positive for Covid-19 and do not present any symptoms will undergo isolation and subsequent treatment of the disease in their homes.
The information was provided by the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, at the press conference of the Multisectoral Commission to prevent and combat Covid-19, on Saturday night (8).
This measure was adopted as a way of reducing the occupancy of beds in specialized centers for the treatment of the disease, since more than 70 percent of the total number of infected people are asymptomatic.
In order for infected people to be isolated at home, there must be a minimum of conditions to maintain distance between the patient and other residents.
Another measure to be followed to ensure that these infected citizens remain at home is that there is no one who is part of the risk group, such as the elderly and chronically ill people.
The residence of any infected citizen must be isolated, with all residents required to comply with home quarantine.
