It is a decision of the Council of Ministers which also opted for the establishment of a committee to reread the texts governing the exercise of the profession, in this case in the field of dental surgery and odontology. -stomatology.
Reasons for suspension
To explain its decision, the Council of Ministers recalled that “ numerous complaints from professionals attest that the said order has real governance concerns that the various arbitrations carried out by the Ministry of Health have not made it possible to resolve. overcome “.
Another justification for this suspension was that there were notable difficulties in collaboration between the Order and the supervisory Ministry, as well as as with international partners carrying out medical missions.
The third and final reason mentioned by the Government through the Council of Ministers of April 11, is that Benin currently has a large number of senior dental technicians who are unable to settle down and , for various reasons, cannot be requested by Doctors, Surgeons and Dentists.
« It is therefore urgent to review the texts organizing the sector with a view to allowing the different bodies that compose it to freely exercise their profession according to their skills. » concludes the Council of Ministers which instructed the Minister of Health to carry out, within the deadline, the mission of setting up a committee to reread the texts governing the exercise of this profession.
