Loverdos for motion of no confidence: “And no light fell on the case and the opposition came out defeated”

In motion of censure and in the ongoing debate in Parliament, the former minister and president of the Democrats party mentioned, Andreas Loverdos.

“My first public reaction – when I heard that a motion of censure would be filed – was that any light shed on this tragic case is for the good and therefore I would vote for it” he said speaking to the First Program of Hellenic Radio 91.6 and 105.8.

And he continued: “But I immediately said that I imagine that in order for the opposition to do this, four opposition parties in this matter, obviously have some elements in mind that will bring them to light during the debate and therefore regardless of the final vote , they will defeat Mr. Mitsotakis. Because they will prove what they claim, namely that the government is covering up its own responsibilities.”

Mr. Loverdos had said that on Thursday night after the vote we will see if the motion of no confidence bore fruit, regardless of whether the solid majority of the New Democracy voted for it or if it turned out to be a boomerang, to add soon after that “in other words, and no light fell on the case and the opposition came out defeated.”

As characteristically noted by Mr. Loverdos, “an artillery soldier from the unit he serves requested the resignation of the prime minister. Can you imagine what he would have done if he had been a general? And I’m talking about Mr. Kasselakis. A soldier dressed in military uniform demanded the resignation of the country’s prime minister. Do you imagine him as a general?’

“It’s political cheap talk about entanglement” he then underlined. More specifically, when asked what the fact that the government accuses PASOK, the opposition of collusion and the opposition parties (PASOK, SYRIZA) accuse the government of collusion, Mr. Loverdos said “I absolutely hear them see these They are sensationalism, catchphrases, and it saddens me that they validate the word cockfighting. This is the cheapness of political discourse.”

Andreas Loverdos said, finally, that he would vote for the motion of censure concerning the case of the crime of Tempe, so that the government would come to the Parliament at its highest level and see if the person proposing it (the motion of censure) knows something which he does not know.

“It doesn’t matter if the government appears united in the motion of no confidence. It matters if it appears from the discussion that it is poorly united, because it has responsibilities. If this is not achieved and the opposition does not achieve it, then on Thursday night we will have another debate.”
