Latvian volleyball players beat their peers from Germany 3-0 (25:23, 25:23, 25:23) in the third qualifying match.
Kristers Landzāns was the top scorer with 16 points, Armands Rokjāns added 15 points, and Kristians Fokerots collected another 14 points. Félix Baumans stood out for the German national team with 18 points.
After three rounds of matches, Latvian volleyball players collected nine points, Germany got five points, Croatia won four points, while Slovakia ended the tournament without points.
On Friday, the Latvians started the second round of the European Championship qualification tournament with a 3-1 victory over Slovakia, and on Saturday they beat Croatia 3-0 in the second match.
Before qualifying for the European Championship last weekend, the Latvians played two test matches in Jēkabpils, in which they lost 0-3 and 2-3 to their peers from Ukraine.
The head coach Mārcs Obrumans is assisted by Đirts Mārtiņšons and statistician Aivis Kokin in the national team.
The second round qualification competition in Daugavpils takes place from April 5 to 7, and the final tournament in Greece and Serbia – from August 26 to September 7.
