JAKARTA – Lorain County Emergency Management (EMA) in Ohio asks residents not to hoard food , water, and fuel ahead of the total eclipse on April 8, 2024.

EMA in Ohio, United States (US) warned the public to prepare themselves for this phenomenon.

IFL Science noted that in the previous phenomenon there was a spike in traffic on Google Search. Many people are looking to find out what will happen when someone looks directly at the Sun immediately after the Eclipse occurs.

The EMA also warned there could be problems with cellphone signals. This is because there will be a lot of excessive cellphone activity.

Apart from that, there are also logistical problems. It is likely that many people who travel will want to see the Total Solar Eclipse directly.

From the path that will be passed in the US, this possibility has been mitigated. For example, Lorain County officials warned there could be increased traffic, wait times at public services such as hospitals and gas stations, and difficulty accessing food and other necessities.

Lorain County EMA Director, Dave Freeman, explained that his county is not the same as other large counties. Because the road is quite small, consisting of only two lanes.

“This isn’t Chicago, it’s not Cleveland, which has a lot of four to six lane roads so there’s traffic. Here [Lorain County] “It can be very extreme when the number of visitors is greater than expected,” he explained as reported by IFL Science, Thursday (7/4/2024).

The total solar eclipse will be visible from Mexico to Canada. The path people can see this phenomenon is also further out than during the 2017 eclipse, because the Moon is closer to Earth making the Sun’s corona visible.
