Suicide bombing in Afghanistan, 3 dead – 2024-03-21 20:02:46

A suicide bombing has occurred in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province. Three people were killed in the incident on Thursday (March 21). 12 people were injured. French news agency AFP reported.

Director of Information and Culture of Kandahar Province, Inamullah Samangani, said that according to preliminary information, a suicide bombing has occurred in Kandahar. Three people were killed in that incident. 12 people were injured.

The incident took place outside the New Kabul Bank branch in Kandahar city at 8 am. The bombing was targeted at some people who were waiting.

Samangani said the injured have been admitted to a hospital in the city. Moreover, everything is under control. There is no cause for alarm.

Taliban officials have partially confirmed that no one has claimed responsibility so far. Since the start of the holy month of Ramadan on March 11, there have been multiple bomb attacks across the country.

However, since the Taliban came to power, the number of bombings and suicide attacks in Afghanistan has decreased significantly. However, several armed groups still pose a threat.

Although Kabul is the capital of Afghanistan, Kandahar is the center of Taliban authority. The Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada lives there. The Taliban came to power in August 2021 after ousting the US-backed government.
