88 thousand rupees fined in 4 shops in Chuadanga – 2024-04-06 00:46:27

Ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, four shops in Chuadanga were fined Tk 88,000 by the Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection.

On Thursday (April 4) around 12 noon, Assistant Director of District Consumer Rights Protection Directorate Sajal Ahmed conducted a raid in Chuadanga’s New Market, Prince Plaza and Kabri Road areas.

He said that the owner Aktar Hossain was fined Tk 50,000 under the Consumer Rights Protection Act for the crime of selling various clothes at an excess profit over the prescribed profit and not storing the product vouchers properly during the inspection of M/s Hriday Fashion in the New Market of Chuadanga. Such campaign will continue in public interest.

Besides, Aziz Maqsood, the owner of M/s Aziz Bastralaya, was fined Tk 5,000 for the crime of selling various clothes in excess of the prescribed profit.

On the other hand, in Prince Plaza Market, M/s Style One organization found evidence of putting a price tag of Tk 2,850 on a shirt worth Tk 750. That is, a profit of 2 thousand 100 taka has been kept in a shirt. AKM Alimuzzaman, the manager of the company, was fined Tk 30,000 for the crime of abnormal price increase.

Also, M/s Bhai Bhai Fuska House at Kabari Road in Chuadanga town was fined Tk 3,000 for the offense of storing expired products and selling them.
