73.1 percent of people in Turkey cannot save money

The results of the research conducted by Areda Piar research company with the participation of 1,534 people across Türkiye were shared. According to the research results, 73.1 percent of Turkish people say that they cannot save money, while 70.4 percent say that it is very difficult to save in Turkey. While 46.5 percent of the participants state that their personal financial situation is bad, 53.3 percent are pessimistic about Turkey’s current economic situation.

50 PERCENT DO NOT HAVE INCOME TO SAVE

Of those who stated that they could not save money, 49.8 percent stated that they did not have income to save, while 23.3 percent stated that their monthly expenses were high, 12.6 percent stated that they had debts, and 5.5 percent stated that they could not save money due to unexpected expenses.

It was also understood that 5 percent did not have a plan to save money, 1.4 percent were addicted to shopping and 0.2 percent could not save money because they did not have a saving goal.

UNDER-PILLOW SCUFFS ARE MOST PREFERRED

22.3 percent of the participants stated that they saved money by cutting down on clothing and shoes, and 16.1 percent stated that they saved money by cutting down on entertainment and socialization expenses. 14.6 percent said they saved money on electricity use, 12.3 percent on water use, 9.8 percent on food and 8.8 percent said they saved money in every area.

In addition, 3.8 percent saves on gift and tip expenses, 2.8 percent on natural gas usage, 2.3 percent on personal care expenses, 1.8 percent on housing expenses and 0.7 percent on insurance costs. .

HALF OF THE PEOPLE DO NOT GO ON HOLIDAY

In this research, in which it was understood that it is difficult to save money and save money, the participants were also asked about the variability in their holiday habits.

50.7 percent of the participants stated that they no longer go on holiday. However, 31.7 percent stated that they preferred places with more affordable budgets, while 11.1 percent said that they did not experience any change in their holiday planning. Those who stated that they saved money by keeping their vacation time shorter constituted 6.5 percent of the society.

According to 53.3 percent of the participants, Turkey’s current economic situation is bad, just like their personal financial situation. While the rate of those who say it is neither good nor bad is 15.8 percent, the rate of those who are optimistic about the country’s economy is 30.9 percent.
