Telmo Piedra, the auditor of the Professional Football Association of Loja, announced that for the 2024 championship there are significant changes that will benefit football in the province, including that teams will not have to pay USD 25,000 to participate and that there will be no relegation for the club that finishes in last position. However, the continuity of these measures will depend on the new board.

To date, the six clubs that have confirmed their participation are: La Castellana Fútbol Club, Lojanos Sporting Club, Sport Boys de Quilanga, Sportivo Loja, Club Borussia and CD Italia.

The auditor also mentioned that they are currently reviewing that the sports venues comply with the necessary requirements. Among these venues are the Reina de El Cisne stadium, the synthetic field in Jipiro Park, the Caballería field and the Universidad Nacional de Loja field.

As for the commitments, the championship will begin on July 20 and will run until August 21, and the champion team will qualify for the playoffs of the National Promotion 2024.

Franklin Aguilar, president of Sport Boys, stressed that the regulations in force for this year are of great benefit to the participants, and he believes that these decisions have been taken for the benefit of the participants, which represents a triumph for football in the city and province. (I)
