Bambang Susantono is a figure who was given the mandate by Jokowi to lead the development of IKN Nusantara as Head of the Authority. His extensive work in the infrastructure sector made him chosen as Head of the IKN Authority at that time.
The development of IKN Nusantara is planned to take place in four stages. The first stage will be in 2020-2024, the second stage will be in 2025-2035, the third stage will be in 2035-2045, and the fourth stage will be in 2045 and so on.
The move of IKN from Jakarta to the archipelago is planned for 2024. The 79th Independence Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17 2024 is planned to be held at IKN.
However, the issue of minimal investment going into IKN, land problems, and the resignation of the Head of OIKN Bambang Susantono and Deputy Head of OIKN Dhony Rahajoe are now in the public spotlight. The following are the IKN facts summarized by SINDOnews from various sources, Tuesday (4/6/2024).
1. The Head and Deputy Head of OIKN Resigned Together
OIKN head Bambang Susantono resigned from his position two months ahead of Jokowi’s plan to hold a ceremony to commemorate the 79th Indonesian Independence Day at IKN. Not only Bambang, Deputy Head of OIKN Dhony Rahajoe also resigned at the same time as the Head of OIKN.
Dhony even submitted his resignation before Bambang Susantono. Bambang was appointed directly by
Jokowi as Head of OIKN in March 2022. As a replacement, President Jokowi appointed Basuki Hadimoeljono as Acting Head of the IKN Authority and Raja Juli Antoni as deputy. Both of them currently also serve as Minister of Public Works and Public Housing and Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).
